Meet the Team
Sasha Ablitt
President of Board of Directors
Owner of family business Ablitt’s Fine Cleaners, Sasha sought to establish a way to recycle dry cleaning plastic in 2012. Through an outpouring of community support, Sasha revolutionized single-use plastic recycling and established Planet Protectors, a 501c3 in Santa Barbara. Sasha manages overall strategy, supply chain/recycling partnerships, and community engagement.
Sasha earned an aerospace engineering degree from UCLA in 1992, followed by an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and worked at Honeywell Aerospace. Outside of work, Sasha can be found hiking in the SB Mountains, tending her chickens and her garden or watching Star Trek.
John Fenner
Board of Directors
A long time manager at Ablitt’s Fine Cleaners with a passion for recycling, John oversaw the early iterations of Planet Protectors through its current state. As a board member, John manages community outreach and business partnerships, our bi-weekly recycling events, and our volunteer group.
Outside of work, John can be found biking around the harbor, reading, and picking up trash on the beach.
Kelsey Bardfield
Board of Directors
As a board member, Kelsey manages community outreach and training, business partnerships and recruitment, and communications.
Kelsey has over a decade of experience in the tech sector leading People Operations, employee development programs, and company volunteerism at companies including Google, Activision Blizzard, and LogicMonitor. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and is a published LinkedIn Learning author.
Outside of work, Kelsey can be found teaching pilates and picking up trash on the beach.
